We took our largest campervan, the Big Sur, and gave it the ultimate upgrade.

What’s new? The Del Mar gives you the ability to stand while inside the vehicle, enough room to sleep 5 comfortably (without ever leaving the van), and more bells and whistles than any other Escape model, including USB chargers & lighting built directly into the pop top campervan. Similar to the Big Sur, you can keep the rear buck seats up when you put the bed down (perfect for families with car seats). Drawers and compartments underneath the back benches provide extra storage and organization.

Not the right fit for you? Check out our other fully-equipped vans that are custom-built, and hand-painted.

Below is the Del Mar diagram. The Del Mar shares the same features of the best-selling Big Sur, plus the pop-top add-on and a few more bells and whistles.

My husband I and wanted a way to travel from Las Vegas to Seattle. We checked into many campervans but most only allow you to return them back to the original city from where they were picked up. We decided to use Escape Campervan USA because they allow you to travel one-way. We picked up in Las Vegas and dropped off in Seattle, WA. We have the van for approximately two weeks and traveled to several National Parks. The enjoyment we had with the Big Sur Van was an experience that we will never forget and will always cherish. The size of the bed was great and the cooking area in the back of the van worked very well. We are glad that we rented the kitchen, bedding and canopy kits. I would recommend to rent the bug socks for the windows as that will help with ventalization in warmer climates. We really enjoyed our road trip and would definately rent a Escape Campervan again.

We loved our camping experience in the Big Sur. Comfortable for two and plenty of storage. Check in was really easy and drop off was even easier. The staff were awesome.

Just finished our 21 day trip from New York to Orlando. And it was fantastic. A few days before our trip we changed from the Maverick to the Big Sur and that was a good decision. Lot more space due to the extra row of chairs, which we used as storage space. We let the bed always in and didn’t change that during the day. And pro-tip: buy a topper at Ikea or Walmart. Its worth every Penny for a much better sleep experience. The check-in at New York and the check-out in Orlando was easy, friendly and efficiënt. The van, only with 135k on it, had some little issues (broken antenna, broken cigaret charger, broken handle fridge etc), but that were not big issues. The engine was great and drove perfectly. If you want a little smaller van and dont need wc or shower, or need to sit inside, escape campervans is a great company. Maybe they should do something with the offices, they look a little sad :)!

By using escape camper van I was able to maximize my time in the National Parks by staying at campground instead of leaving the park each day. The Big Sur was spacious enough for the 4 of us, and the beds were very comfortable. I will definitely be using them again in the near future.

**MPG will depend on speeds driven, terrain/weather/road conditions
