When you compare campervans to RVs, our small campervans provide functional comforts with the flexibility and freedom to get off the beaten path.

We took our largest campervan, the Big Sur, and gave it the ultimate upgrade.

What’s new? The Del Mar gives you the ability to stand while inside the vehicle, enough room to sleep 5 comfortably (without ever leaving the van), and more bells and whistles than any other Escape model, including USB chargers & lighting built directly into the pop top campervan. Similar to the Big Sur, you can keep the rear buck seats up when you put the bed down (perfect for families with car seats). Drawers and compartments underneath the back benches provide extra storage and organization.

Not the right fit for you? Check out our other fully-equipped vans that are custom-built, and hand-painted.

Below is the Del Mar diagram. The Del Mar shares the same features of the best-selling Big Sur, plus the pop-top add-on and a few more bells and whistles.

We had a blast traveling the Pacific Northwest with the Big Sur van! Travelled over 1700 miles with everything we needed in the van. The overland kitchen was perfect for camping and the bed was great. The van ran well throughout. Only feedback I’d have to continue to make these the best is make sure cushions on the bed are all the thicker ones as the thinner one wasn’t great. Small issue and we walked away fully relaxed and anticipating doing this again! Thanks to the Seattle and las Vegas staff for their help in setting us up and dropping off.

We had a great time- the van, amazing. We rented the Big Sur, no issues whatsoever and was wonderful. And we will come back. Howeve, your pick up time sucks and you charge for a whole day/night?! So we can sit in rush hour traffic?? And you still have to pack your van. Pick up should be when you open. Period. And then we had to return by 10 am we lost 6 hours from pick to drop off which is a little bit cheesy. At checkout there was tension you could feel (she was frustrated)and we needed to leave- we had another appointment- we were there first - she chose to check in the new customer while he was there to get HIS VAN at 10 am to PICK UP - we don’t know why since we were not allowed to- but like a bus , you let people off before you let people on. So we said we had to go- she said we owed you 79$ for unused miles. We left an heard nothing else about our refund- no receipt, no email. Got an email to leave this review but nothing about my refund. Once again, THE VAN WAS AMAZING. And we will definitely be back to rent again. It’s not the workers fault I’m sure-was more company policy.

This is the 4th time we’ve used Escape Campervans and we’ve had a great experience at each location (Utah, San Fran, Las Vegas). The people have always been very professional, and they quickly respond to emails. As far as the vans go we’ve had good luck with the Maverick and Big Sur. We prefer the Big Sur because it does give us a bit more room. Some of the vans do have high mileage but we’ve never had any issues. This time we rented a Jeep at Las Vegas depot. When we arrived at the depot we were waited on immediately and professionally. They reviewed the contract with us, tour of the vehicle and made sure we didn’t need any additional items.Because the Jeep is 4W drive it is a good alternative if you’re planning on going on rough or back roads. Plus everyone looks cool in a Jeep.Beds were comfortable in the van as well as the Jeep. Bedding is always clean and warm. My only issue would be the Jeep’s cooler isn’t solar powered and we did have to use ice. Not really a big deal for us.I can't wait to go on my next adventure with Escape!

We loved our experience with Escape Campervans! Everyone was very helpful from the time I booked, through all my questions, at pick up with Sean and through drop off. Everyone made me feel so comfortable with the process. The van itself was awesome. We are a family of four and rented the Big Sur with rooftop sleeper. We all fit in the bed together one night - but mostly my husband and 8 year old slept in the rooftop tent, they absolutely loved it! The van ran great, had everything we needed and was easy to drive. I recommend 10/10.
