The Olympic Peninsula is breathtaking. Highly recommend Hurricane Ridge, Salt Creek Rec area for camping, Lake Crescent, Marymere Falls, Rialto beach with the hike out to Hole in the Wall, Ruby beach, and the Hoh Rain forest. I won't knock Escape Campervans--the van did what it was supposed to do. Everything worked. The setup of the van is very practical, and it was easy to adjust. The kitchen space is well planned. Customer service at least online and via phone was great. Our experience was not as advertised however, and I think my expectations of the camper van experience were too high as a result. It was definitely not what you see on Instagram or online. Perhaps different at other sites. We drove a Maverick--an old Econoline with 296,000+ miles on it. It was as comfortable as that sounds. The seats were not adjustable, the windshield wipers were worn out so visibility in the rain was poor, and the cushions on the pull out bed were noticeably more condensed than the 2 additional cushions that go behind the front seats--making the bed a pretty uncomfortable game of Tetris for the 2 of us. Recommend paying very close attention to the fine print and understand what comes in each kit, so you have what you need. Also, understand the additional costs of mileage, gas, etc. Ended up being significantly more costly than anticipated. Still glad we went, but I'd probably not choose to go this route again.

We really enjoyed traveling up the West Coast in the Mavericks van. It was easy to set up the bed and use the kitchen. Because it was self-contained, we just drove without plans, sometimes sleeping on the side of the road. The bed was surprisingly comfortable. However, our van was a little worn (274,000 miles), so it was loud on the freeway and had some definite wear and tear. Nonetheless, we definitely recommend Escape Campervans. It was a lot of fun and the people were friendly and helpful.

My experience with escape Campervans was amazing! My boyfriend and I rented the Santa Cruz model for a 10 day National park tour between Arizona and Utah. It was perfect for what we needed. My boyfriend felt like the maverick might’ve been nice for a little more space to get dressed and move around in back of van, but for me the Santa Cruz is all you need. We also had really great weather so there was no reason to be in the van except to eat and get change occasionally if you’re not at a campground or place with bathrooms to change in. Everything in the van worked well and was in good condition. Operating everything was very straightforward. We brought quite a bit of stuff and carried a fair amount of groceries with us in van, but with a little organization and planning everything fit nicely! Customer service was frieendly and welcoming. We had no issues so I can’t speak to that. One thing that was a little rough at times with planning was if you need to call for any reason I always got sent to voicemail. I only tried twice though and the call back or email response time was reasonable. Overall I highly recommend!
