If you’re heading off to Joshua Tree National Park, make sure you grab an Escape campervan. Start your vacation at our Los Angeles campervan depot. Then you’re off on your journey to see Keys View, Hidden Valley, and everything Joshua Tree has to offer. With your campervan rental, you can store all your stuff in a mobile home base. Then at the end of the day, prepare an amazing dinner using your mobile kitchen and unwind in a cozy queen-size bed.
Are RVs Too Large? Use A Joshua Tree Campervan Rental For The Ultimate Trip!
You might have friends who took a Joshua Tree RV rental for their trip, but there are many benefits to booking a campervan rental instead. An Escape campervan comes with many of the same amenities that an RV does but packaged in a colorful, more agile form.
Like an RV, a campervan comes with a kitchen, a table and bench, and a queen-size bed. However, everything is much more compact for increased functionality. The bed only folds out when you need it, and you can get to your kitchen by opening the van’s back doors. So it’s like you have a secret campsite just waiting to be unfurled whenever you need it.
With a campervan rental, your vacation isn’t confined to wide roads or those crowded RV campsites. Your campervan can easily use more private tent sites. And campervans don’t need the electric or sewer hookups like an RV does. Campervans are also great for dispersed camping!
But Which Escape Campervan Should You Rent For Joshua Tree?
There are a few things to consider when choosing which Escape Campervan to take to Joshua Tree. We offer the Mavericks, Big Sur, Santa Cruz, and Newport Camper at the Los Angeles depot. Which campervan you choose depends on how many people are in your party and your needs.
Our most popular campervan is the Mavericks. This Escape campervan gives you a soft queen-size bed, foldaway in-van table and benches, a 2-burner propane stove, dual powered refrigerator, and a sink. The Mavericks is perfect for romantic getaways to Joshua Tree. But it can sleep 5, so it can fit friends or kids, too. You can also rent rooftop sleepers if you want your kids to have their own sleeping space.
If you want more room for your family, or if you’re taking an extended trip, think about getting the Big Sur campervan. With the Big Sur, you have the same amenities as the Mavericks. Yet it’s big enough that you don’t have to fold down the bucket seats to pull out your queen-size bed. The Big Sur also includes more storage space. You can also add the popular rooftop sleeper.
For individual travelers or couples, consider the Santa Cruz campervan model. This model still gives you the luxuries of our bigger campervan models but in a smaller form.
All campervan rentals include our unique hand-painted exteriors. You can even rent campervan extras for Joshua Tree such as picnic tables, tents, and child safety seats to make your trip even better. And with each rental, you’ll receive individual customer care and 24/7 roadside assistance at no charge!
Where Will You Pick Up Your Joshua Tree Campervan Rental?
You’ll need to pick up your Escape campervan from our Los Angeles Escape depot to start your road trip to Joshua Tree. We’re located on W Century Blvd in Inglewood, which is only a six-minute Uber, Lyft, or cab ride from LAX. Our Los Angeles staff will take you on a brief tour of your campervan so you learn how to use its features. Don’t feel shy about asking any questions before you leave. Our team is happy to help and may have some little-known tips for camping in and exploring Joshua Tree National Park.
The Best Way To Get To Joshua Tree From Los Angeles?
When driving off from the Los Angeles Escape depot, it’s about three hours to get to Joshua Tree, heading east along CA-60 E. When you get to Joshua Tree National Park, we recommend entering through the West (Main) Entrance. Entry fees are $30/vehicle for 7 days, but entrance is included with the National Park (America the Beautiful) annual pass.
Where Can You Camp At Joshua Tree National Park?
Joshua Tree has eight campgrounds including Belle Campground, Hidden Valley Campground, and Jumbo Rocks Campground. You’ll want to call to make a reservation if you’re camping from September through May, especially in the high season from February to May or during the weekends. From May through September campgrounds are first-come, first-served and some campgrounds may be closed due to heat.
There are also campgrounds outside of Joshua Tree National Forest. Or you can try dispersed camping outside the park. Remember, dispersed camping means no restrooms, showers, or fire rings, so you want to abide by the Leave No Trace principles.
