This company was responsive and flexible which was great as my husband and I were planning a last minute anniversary trip and our plans changed multiple times from the dates we needed the rental to the location of where we were picking it up but Escape Campervans made it happen for us! We spent 5 days in Crush and couldn't have loved it more...we are already planning our next trip. The only hiccup was that the kitchen essentials was not in the van and unfortunately we didn't realize this until we were almost to Yosemite so had to buy some stuff on the road but when we returned the van they were very accommodating and reimbursed us. This short trip was even more than we expected and so grateful for the memories that we made :)... Read More

Probably the best way to travel in the world, absolute freedom. Easy pick-up in Vegas where I did my grocery shopping before and loaded up the car when I got there. Remember to buy 5-10 liters of water. The fridge is actually really decent in size and should be able to contain food for 4-5 days. I had eggs, milk, chicken, meat etc. in it. I did Zion, Lake Powell, Grand Canyon and Sedona ending in Phoenix. The girl receiving the car was super nice, I ended up using 908 miles out of 900 and it was all good ... Read More
We were initially going to rent a full size SUV for a week long trip in some parks. Travel and camping in the SUV, just fold down the back seats and move our storage up front to sleep.... These vans destroyed that whole idea A - cheaper B- waay more space C- full camp kitchen D- cheaper and bigger. Ok so, after gas and the extra mileage we traveled it worked out to be maybe 100 dollars less than the SUV would have BUT — absolutely worth it. To top it all off these guys have great service!... We rented the Big Sur for a road trip along the 395. The van was great - tons of storage space! We rented a minivan camper van from a different company before and the features were similar but shoving all that into a minivan just ends up being a daily frustrating game of Tetris with bags and the bed. The Big Sur van we rented from Escape Campervans had room to spare! Easy to drive, took the high altitude Sierra dirt roads like a champ! I recommend bringing a lantern for night time as the lights in the car are connected to the main battery and will turn off when the car does. Staff at the LAX location are awesome! Super friendly with the kind of energy that makes it seem like they are excited for your trip! One thing to double check - there was a miscommunication and I thought the clean water tank was full when I picked up the van. Make sure to confirm either way. Its easy to fill up but you might as well do so before you hit the road!... Read More
We had such a good time. I didn't give a full 5 stars as I feel like it would have been extremely helpful to have been told that the van couldn't actually make it in the snow as we got stuck, which wasn't very pleasant and we could have saved a whole lot of miles instead of heading up a snowy mountain and getting stuck. But other than that we have a good trip and can't wait for our next one!... Read More
We drove Riva, who we nicknamed the desert dream machine. The van was great! Pickup and drop-off was very easy and quick, and prices were very transparent. Three of us drove around through Death Valley and Joshua Tree national parks and it was wonderful having everything we needed at all times in the van, which also fit into every parking space, while also being very spacious. Unfolding the bed each night and folding back up to drive was pretty easy. The little fridge fit everything we needed, but I'd recommend packing your own sleeping bags and cooking utensils if you can, just to save money. We ended up only using the pan out of the kitchen kit. Can't wait until the next vacation and road trip!... Read More

While our Big Sur, Mavericks, Jeep Camper, and Santa Cruz models don’t have bathrooms, our renters do just fine using campground facilities and public restrooms, and practicing Leave No Trace principles when dispersed camping. It is a matter of your own comfort level, but the freedom that campervan travel gives you compared to RVs is worth it for many!
Seating is according to how many seat belts are available in each vehicle. You can always add the rooftop sleeper (Big Sur and Mavericks only, standard on Jeep Camper) or bring along our ground tent accessory to sleep more people. Bedding kits are available for rent to accommodate the number of people in your party.
We occasionally sell our more “experienced” campervans—fit out, paint job, and all!
